7 Habits of Happy Kids

We are thrilled at LCM to have the 7 Habits of Happy Kids as the core of our Character Education program. The 7 Habits of Happy Kids come from Steven Covey’s Work: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Our LCM children will be learning and ingraining these habits that will truly last a lifetime. With our 7 Habits, we are addressing the 21st century skills that many employers are seeking: Taking Initiative (Be Proactive); Problem Solving (Begin with the End in Mind); Analyze Information (Put First Things First); Agility and Adaptability (Think Win-Win); Effective Communication (Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood); Collaboration (Synergize); and Curiosity and Imagination (Sharpen the Saw). Additionally, by teaching children the 7 Habits, we are naturally embedding the four cornerstones of our new Common Core State Standards: Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity. Our Dolphin Way is “Do the Right Thing, Even When No One is Looking.” This is how we roll at LCM, how we do business, and we do it by teaching our children those 7 Habits of Happy Kids.
