2nd-5th Grade Return to Campus Expansion

2nd-5th Grade Return to Campus Expansion

From Mrs. Bedard, Principal
May 2, 2021

Beginning Tuesday, May 4th, all in-person second through fifth grade students will start attending school on campus four days a week.  Students will attend school on campus Tuesday through Friday from 8:45 AM - 2:25 PM.  Mondays will remain virtual from 8:30 - 10:10 AM.

Additionally, please note the following important information:
Due to social distancing guidelines that remain in place while students are eating lunch (6 ft.), students will alternate between eating lunch at the lunch tables and eating lunch picnic style on the sidewalk and artificial turf.  Students should have a beach towel to sit on in their backpack at all times beginning Tuesday, May 4th.

Students will begin live PE instruction on campus this week.  Please ensure that your child is wearing proper footwear for PE on his/her PE days.

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES FOR ALL STUDENTS
Our arrival and dismissal process will be impacted beginning this week due to the increase in second through fifth grade students coming to campus Tuesday-Friday.  Please note the following information:

Second through fifth grade students may not arrive on campus prior to 8:15 AM.  If your child arrives before 8:15, your family will be asked to loop around and return at 8:15.  If you have an AM TK-1st grade student and a 2nd-5th grade student, we respectfully request that you arrive as close to 8:15 AM as possible.

Our afternoon dismissal process is going to take more time.  TK-1st grade parents should not arrive prior to 2:45 PM.  If a TK-1st grade parent arrives before 2:45 PM, you will have to loop around again.  We understand that parents do not enjoy looping around; the best way to ensure this does not happen is by not arriving prior to 2:45 PM.  There are no TK-1st grade students in front of campus before 2:45 PM, therefore we need the space in the pick-up line for families who are picking up their 2nd-5th grade students.

In order to expedite the dismissal process, please utilize the iSchoolRide Pick-up App.  If you are unable to download the app, please ensure that you have a sign in your front window with your child’s first and last name as well as his/her teacher.

Most importantly, we ask that you exercise patience, understanding, and respect towards each other and staff during this time.  While we are excited to welcome more students back on campus, this is another change that we are all pivoting to navigate together.  As has been the case with other changes this school year, changes in routines and practices will take time to learn.  We will be using this week to evaluate if additional modifications in procedures and protocols need to be made.  Thank you in advance for your partnership in ensuring that the expansion of our reopening is a success!
