This Week's Dolphin Blast

This Week's Dolphin Blast

12.12.18

Hello LCM Families,

We are having a great week at LCM.  This is Book Fair week, and students are enjoying their trips to the Book Fair during their library times.  Today is also our Polar Express Night! The Book Fair will be open from 5pm - 7pm and there will be carols and a reading of The Polar Express in our cafeteria beginning at 5:30pm.  Come join us!

Please read on for news and updates for our school this week.

Thank you for your continued support,

Adam Klimas
Principal
La Costa Meadows Elementary

Community Helping a Community Service Project:

Thank you for supporting our student council in their efforts to support Paradise Elementary School.  The student council’s dollar drive is underway, and we’ve nearly met our goal of $2,000. Donations can still be made, and our PTO will be donating all proceeds from this Friday’s Coffee Cart to the service project!

Help us Spread Warmth!

Some of our LCM students, and other students in our area have organized a Beanie collection.  Please help us share warmth with community members in need by donating new or gently used winter hats. Beanies will be collected in a donation box in the front office until December 17th and then distributed by the Community Resource Center. Thanks for your help!

Regular School Attendance:

We continue to focus on improving our daily attendance!  This includes overall absences, tardies, and early pick-ups.  Please make regular attendance a priority. Remember each tardy or early pick-up is a distraction for all students.

Attention LCM Dads:

Please save the date for our Pizza with Dad night, January 29 from 5:30-7pm! More details coming after Winter Break.

Parenting Nights at LCM:

Our next presenter will be John Moffat, a digital safety consultant, and the topic of his presentation is Bridging the Digital Knowledge Gap Between Parents and Their Children.  This presentation is designed to raise awareness of the constant changes facing our youth.  Mr. Moffat translates pre-teen/teen to adult and the other way around. His simple tips can help you and your family use technology to make real connections.  Mark your calendars and plan to join us on February 28th.

Lexia at home:

Winter Break is right around the corner and Lexia is a great tool to stay sharp over the break.  All our Dolphins are familiar with the program, and you can use these directions to log on to Lexia at home…
