La Costa Meadows Families and Community Members,

I consider it a true honor to be serving as the principal of La Costa Meadows Elementary School for my third year, and a blessing to be a member of the LCM Community. I began my career in education at La Costa Meadows as a 4th and 5th grade teacher. I know this is a great place for children and families to learn and grow. Throughout the years my family and I have attended Springfests, our famous Halloween Carnival, Picnic in the Park, and many other community events. La Costa Meadows feels like home and I am thankful to work at this great school.

Throughout my career I have had the benefit of working closely with Jennifer Carter, and Andrea Holmes, our previous principals, and have learned from their exceptional leadership. My career has been enriched by a wide variety of opportunities including serving as a teacher leader for the Essential Elements of Instruction, a One-to-One technology pilot teacher, participating in the districts American History Foundations grant, and serving as a Teacher on Special Assignment helping with the implementation of the Common Core Standards for Mathematics.

As an educator I value hard work, character education, and continuous learning for our students and staff.

Thank you for your continued support,

Adam D. Klimas

Ms. Stephens & her 3 sons.

I am honored to begin my second year as the assistant principal at La Costa Meadows Elementary. I wake up each and every day excited to come to work, as LCM is such a special place to be. I have been in SMUSD since 2001, working as a teacher and at the district level on multiple committees and cadres. A few of my responsibilities have included the Essential Elements of Instruction Cadre, California Teaching Induction Support Provider, NGSS Science Cadre, Student Study Team Leader, a Cooperating Teacher for teachers in training, and the On-Site Liaison for CSUSM's Student Teacher program. These roles have sparked my passion for instructional leadership.

I have three teenage boys. My oldest son is a Marine and currently stationed in North Carolina completing his training. In the fall, he will be attending SDSU, while completing a Marine Officer Program. My other boys attend San Marcos High School. My middle son is a junior who loves fitness and is a running back on the Knight's Varsity Football Team. My youngest is a freshman. He is also a Knight's football player and is in a band, playing both the acoustic and electric guitar.

I am thrilled to be a part of the LCM family, building relationships with the staff, students, parents, and community. I am looking forward to another fantastic year!
