Welcome to physical education for the 2018-2019 school year. The physical education team is looking forward to a year full of enhancing physical education skills, collaborative sportsmanship, and lots and lots of fun!
We are working together with teachers to set expectations for P.E. Please review the following with your child(ren):
- Wear comfortable clothes. Girls are encouraged to wear shorts under skirts.
- Shoes must be closed toe, and preferably with laces or Velcro enclosure. Wearing inappropriate shoes can limit a child's ability to participate effectively in some P.E. activities.
- All children will be participating in P.E. unless they have a note excusing them. If your student needs to be out of P.E. longer than 3 days a doctor's note is needed.
- Students may bring a water bottle to P.E. labeled with his/her name.
HOW TO EARN AN "E"(Excellent grade) in P.E.:
- An "S" in P.E. will be earned if your child(ren) achieve average expectations. An "E" will be earned if your child(ren) go above and beyond what is expected in P.E. at all times (see back).
- Do what your coach says the first time, without being asked twice. Be Proactive.
- Be supportive and helpful with other students and always be a good sport. Think Win-Win and Synergize.
Please see your classroom teacher for your child's P.E. days, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Sincerely,
The P.E. Team
