Physical Education Expectations

Welcome to physical education class for the 2016-2017 school year! Students will participate in a standards-based program that promotes lifelong fitness through instruction in the benefits of healthy choices, regular exercise, and a growth mindset. We provide an engaging, student-centered program which develops both the physical and social skills for students to actively participate in a positive fitness program.

We are working together with teachers to set expectations for Physical Education. Please review the following rules with your child(ren):

· Wear cool, comfortable, and appropriate clothing that will allow your child to move and exercise effectively.

· Shoes must be closed toe and have laces or Velcro. Wearing inappropriate shoes can limit your child’s ability to participate during physical education.

· All children will be participating in Physical Education unless they have a note excusing them. If your student needs to be out of Physical Education longer than 3 days, a doctor’s note will be needed.

· Students may bring a water bottle to Physical Education labeled with his/her name. Water ONLY!

Please see the physical education schedule for your child’s PE days, and please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,

The P.E. Team
