Behavior Plan

Behavior Plan

There is a behavior/effort chart in our classroom with the following categories: Out of this World, Star Student, Oops, Uh-oh and Yikes.

The goal for every student is to keep their clothespin marker on Star Student, or to move up to Out of this World.   Each day your child will bring home a ticket to show you where their clothespin was at the end of the day. Please initial it and send it back.

The behavior plan is an essential part of my daily communication with you regarding your child’s behavior and effort during our time together.

Out of this World:   When your child does something exceptional, whether it be educationally or socially impressive they will receive and Out of this World ticket.

Star Student: When your child earns a Star Student they have performed well during the day, and have meet classroom behavior and effort expectations.

Oops!: If your child earns an Oops! It means that they needed to be redirected and reminded of my expectations during the day.

Uh-Oh!: If your child earns an Uh-Oh! it means they continued an undesired behavior after several reminders.

Yikes!:   If your child earns a Yikes! It means they had a difficult day and had to be given consequences at school (example: removed from the classroom due to disruption of the learning environment).   Any severe disruption or dangers to other class members will result in an immediate referral to the principal.

Additional Classroom Incentives

Golden Tickets: These are rewarded to individuals who display appropriate and helpful behavior during work time.   This is another way to catch them being good.

Class Points:   The class performs as a whole team to earn mini celebrations during the year.   The class goal increases each time they meet their own expectations.
