Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I am excited to be your child's 4th grade teacher. This will be my 22nd year at La Costa Meadows. I have taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. This will be my second year teaching 4th grade. I can't wait to dive into the 4th grade curriculum with your child. It is such a fantastic year learning about California history.
I live in Carlsbad with Brian and our three beautiful daughters. Kylee will begin her Senior year and Sara will begin her Junior year at Carlsbad High School. Addie will begin her 7th grade year at Valley Middle School in Carlsbad. We love traveling as much as we can. We love visiting family and friends in Europe. When we are at home we are busy with soccer, volleyball, softball, basketball and dance! We enjoy going to the movies, the beach and spending lots of time with family and friends creating memories.
This will be a very fun and productive year for your child. I will be right beside your child learning, laughing, welcoming challenges and persevering through the fourth grade curriculum. I'm excited to bring in some new ideas to fourth grade. Your fourth grader can look forward to projects that are creative and fun. We will be creating stories and strengthening their writing skills, doing hands on science activities and challenging math activities, with an emphasis on using problem solving strategies. I can't wait for the fourth grade field trips and Gold Rush Day!
My goal this year is to create an encouraging environment and a love of learning.
Our school provides some basic school supplies. In addition, it is recommended that each family donate materials that we will use daily in our classroom. Please see the list on my classroom webpage for items needed.

11:10-11:30 Recess
12:35-1:20 Lunch/Recess
3:10 Dismissal (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)
2:10 Dismissal on Wednesday
Thursday, August 22nd is Back to School Night! This is an evening for parents.
