My name is Karen Karl and this year will mark my 36th year as a teacher. This will be my 29th year teaching at La Costa Meadows. Prior to moving back to San Diego, I had a wonderful opportunity to work in business, but after three years away from education, I knew my heart was in teaching. I was very fortunate to be able to join the LCM community. 

I live in Point Loma with my husband, Chris. We are celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary this year. Our daughter, Hannah, graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in June 2022 and Grad school in 2024. She is starting her career and is currently teaching first grade.
 
When I'm not working, I love to travel, spend time with family and friends, read books, and do crafts. Although my family enjoys relaxing vacations, we also love to see and learn about new places.
