From Our Dolphin Blast 10.17.18

Hello LCM Families,

It is Halloween Carnival Week at LCM.  We are so thankful for all the volunteers who have dedicated their time to ensuring the success of our greatest tradition.  We still have volunteer slots available, so see below for more details. We look forward to seeing you all this weekend!

Wigs 4 Kids and Pink Fridays:

Pink Fridays are back. The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Wear pink every Friday in October to show your support.

If you, your child, or a family member has 8 inches or more of hair to donate, contact Renee Mone at Renee.mone@smusd.org to participate in Wigs for Kids. The event is Friday, November 2nd at 845am.

5th Grade Family Picnic Lunch:

Fifth Grade Parents, mark your calendars and pack your lunches for Friday, October 26! You are are invited to dine with your 5th grade student during their lunch period from 12:35-1:20. More details will be provided, but a few key points to remember are:

     1. Please bring your own lunch

     2. Plan to check in at the PTO table in front of the school by 12:05 pm

     3. Remember that no siblings may be pulled out of class as this is a special activity for you and your fifth grader

4.Students will return to class after lunch, please do not check your student out of school early as we want to make Every Minute Count.

We thank you and we are looking forward to a very special Family Lunch together!  *Dates for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th grade picnic lunches will be released soon.

Parenting Nights at LCM:

Thank you to the families that joined us for our first parenting night of the year with Christine Fonseca.  We had a great turn-out for her presentation on The Power of Self-Reliance to Help Kids Break Free From Stress and Anxiety.  Mark your calendars and please join us for the next event in our school cafeteria on November 1st at 6pm.

Attention Dads:

Over the past years many of you have volunteered on campus as an extra set of eyes and ears to help keep our students safe, and to help us promote a welcoming environment for all students.  We continue to have opportunities for you to volunteer during recess, lunch recess or even to help with student drop-off before school. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering one time, or becoming a regular volunteer for recess, lunch recess, or student drop-off please email our community liaison, Stacy Pollard.  stacy.pollard@smusd.org

Stay Connected with LCM:

We have a variety of ways to stay up-to-date on LCM news, keep up with us on social media or here at this website!
