This is our new character education program at LCM. As a community, we are looking at what good character means, what it looks like, and how we can foster this in our students and ourselves.

September
: Respect – Showing high regard for what's right, other people, and for self. Treating others as you would want to be treated. Understanding that all people have value as human beings.

October: Responsibility – Being accountable for your words and actions. Having a sense of duty to fulfill tasks with reliability.

November: Cooperation – Doing what's right and

being willing to work with a variety of people in a

variety of situations.

December: Kindness – Showing understanding of others by treating them with compassion, generosity, and a forgiving spirit.

January: Courage – Doing the right thing in the face of difficulty and following your conscience instead of the crowd.

February: Honesty – Telling the truth, taking responsibility for your actions. Being trustworthy and acting with integrity.

March: Self Discipline – Demonstrating hard work with controlling your emotions, words, actions, impulses, and desires. Giving your best in all situations.

April: Fairness – Practicing justice, equity, and equality. Cooperating with one another. Recognizing the uniqueness and value of each individual within our diverse society.

May: Perseverance – Pursuing worthy objectives with determination and patience while exhibiting fortitude when confronted with failure.
